Math Solver — Scientific Calculator, Equation Solver & Percentage (गणित समाधान)

Free online math solver with three tools in one: a scientific calculator that evaluates full expressions with brackets, powers, roots and trigonometry; an equation solver that solves linear and quadratic equations in x step by step — showing the rearrangement, the discriminant and the root formula the way SEE and +2 exams expect the working; and quick percentage calculators for the three questions everyone asks (X% of Y, "X is what percent of Y", and percent increase/decrease).

Built for students and everyday use in Nepal — SEE and NEB +2 optional math practice, checking homework answers, shop discount and interest percentage calculations. Everything works instantly in your browser on any phone or computer, with no app to install and no sign-up.

What can the calculator evaluate?

Type a whole expression, not one operation at a time: (25+15)×4 − √81, 2^10 ÷ 8, sin(30) + cos(60), log(1000) + ln(e), or 2π×7. It follows the standard order of operations (BODMAS/PEMDAS), understands implicit multiplication like 2(3+5), and trigonometric functions work in degrees — the convention used in Nepali school mathematics. Supported functions: sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, log (base 10), ln, √ (sqrt), cbrt, abs, plus the constants π and e.

How does the equation solver show steps?

Enter any linear or quadratic equation — 3x+4=10, 2x^2+3x-5=0, even with x on both sides like x^2+2x = 3x+6. The solver:

1. Moves every term to one side and simplifies to the standard form ax² + bx + c = 0.
2. Identifies a, b and c.
3. Calculates the discriminant D = b² − 4ac and explains what its sign means.
4. Applies x = (−b ± √D) ÷ 2a and gives both roots — including the repeated-root and no-real-root (complex) cases.

This mirrors the working teachers expect in SEE and Grade 11/12 exams, so you can check your homework line by line, not just the final answer.

Percentage calculators

The प्रतिशत tab answers the three everyday percentage questions instantly: 13% of 4500 (VAT, discounts, commission), 45 is what % of 60 (exam marks — that's 75%), and 500 → 650 is what change (+30% — price rises, salary increments, population growth). Type the numbers and the answer appears as you type.

Use it together with our other tools

Calculate your grades with the GPA Calculator (SEE/NEB), work out loan interest with the Loan Calculator, convert numbers to Nepali words with the Number to Words converter, or practise for exams with the Typing Test.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does the calculator follow BODMAS?

Yes. Expressions are evaluated with the standard order of operations — brackets first, then powers, then multiplication/division left to right, then addition/subtraction. 2+3×4 gives 14, not 20.

Are sin, cos and tan in degrees or radians?

Degrees — the convention in Nepali school and college math. sin(30) = 0.5, tan(45) = 1. The inverse functions asin, acos and atan also return degrees.

Can it solve quadratic equations with no real roots?

Yes. When the discriminant is negative it says so and gives the complex roots in the form x = p ± qi, along with the steps.

Can I use it for SEE and NEB exam practice?

Yes — the equation solver shows the same standard-form, discriminant and formula steps that SEE and +2 marking schemes award marks for. Use it to verify your working, then practise writing the steps yourself.

Does it work offline / is my data stored?

All calculation happens in your browser — nothing you type is sent to any server. Once the page is loaded, calculations need no internet connection.
