Effective date: 11 June 2026
Preeti to Unicode (“we”, “our”, “this website”) at preetitounicode.com provides free online Nepali typing and font tools — Preeti ↔ Unicode conversion, English to Nepali (Roman) typing, Nepali voice typing and the Nepali Docs word processor. This Privacy Policy explains what information is and is not collected when you use the website, and how it is handled.
The short version
- The text you type, convert, dictate or write in our tools is never sent to or stored on our servers. All conversion happens in your own browser.
- Your drafts and documents are saved only on your own device (browser local storage).
- We use Google Analytics to understand overall site traffic — anonymous usage statistics, not your content.
- We never sell, rent or trade any personal information.
Your text and documents
All of our converters and typing tools run inside your browser. Text you paste into the Preeti ↔ Unicode converters, words you type, documents you write in Nepali Docs and files you download (.docx, .txt) are processed and generated entirely on your device. We have no access to this content, and it never reaches our servers.
For your convenience, the tools automatically save your work in your browser’s local storage so it is still there if the page reloads. This data stays on your device; clearing your browser data will remove it, so please download a copy of anything important.
Typing suggestions and voice typing
Two features rely on services built into your browser or provided by Google, and only when you actively use them:
- Nepali typing suggestions: when you type a Roman word in the English to Nepali typing tool or Nepali Docs, that word is sent to Google’s Input Tools service to fetch Nepali suggestions. Only the individual word being converted is sent — never your whole document. If you are offline, a built-in converter is used instead and nothing is sent anywhere.
- Voice typing: when you tap the microphone, your speech is processed in real time by your browser’s built-in speech recognition service (for example, Google’s service in Chrome). We never receive, record or store your audio. Microphone access is used only while the mic button is on, and you can revoke it anytime in your browser settings. Voice data handling is governed by your browser vendor’s privacy policy.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we use a small number of standard services that collect technical information:
- Google Analytics: anonymous statistics such as pages visited, time on site, approximate location (city level), browser and device type. This helps us understand which tools are useful. Google Analytics uses cookies. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Hosting and security (Cloudflare and our web host): standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, kept for security and to keep the site running reliably.
Cookies
We do not set cookies for the tools themselves — your tool preferences (such as the नेपाली/English typing mode) are stored in local storage on your device, not in cookies. Cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and, on blog posts only, from embedded sharing features (see below). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; all tools keep working without them.
Blog comments and embedded content
If you leave a comment on our blog, the name, email address and comment text you submit are stored on our website to display the comment. Your email address is never published or shared. Blog posts may also include social sharing buttons (Facebook, ShareThis) — these third-party services may set their own cookies when a post page loads, and their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Children’s privacy
Our tools are suitable for general audiences and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. No account or personal detail is ever required to use the website.
Data security
The website is served over HTTPS, so your connection is encrypted. Because your text and documents never leave your device, the most important security step is your own: anything you write is exactly as private as the device and browser you use.
Your rights
Since we do not store your content or require accounts, there is usually nothing for us to delete. If you have left blog comments and would like them removed, or you have any privacy question, contact us and we will respond as quickly as possible.
Changes to this policy
If we add features that change how data is handled, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted on the blog.
