Twenty-four bodies have been recovered from inside a single house in Betrawati, located in Bidur Municipality-10, Nuwakot, following a devastating flood in the Trishuli River. The discovery was made in the Uttargaya Mini Mart building.
According to SP Bipin Regmi of the Nuwakot District Police Office, the 24 bodies were retrieved from the house housing the Uttargaya Mini Mart in Betrawati.
“We have recovered 24 bodies after searching to the best of our ability. Searches are still pending in other areas,” SP Regmi told.
He stated that the process of preparing an inventory (muuchulka) and identifying the recovered bodies is underway. As of now, the bodies have not been identified.
Once the inventory process is complete, the bodies will be sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, for post-mortem examinations, he added.
This large number of people were found dead inside a single house due to the devastating flood that occurred in the Trishuli River via Bhote Koshi, Rasuwa, on Bhadra 10 (August 26).
