About Preeti to Unicode — Free Nepali Tools for Everyone

Preeti to Unicode started as a simple goal: make converting Preeti — the traditional Nepali font used in decades of documents, books and government offices — into Unicode effortless, so that Nepali text works everywhere: on the web, in email, on social media and on every smart device.

Today it has grown into a full suite of free Nepali tools used daily by students, bloggers, journalists, office workers, Lok Sewa aspirants and the Nepali community around the world. Every tool is free, requires no sign-up, works on mobile and computer — and runs entirely in your browser, so your text, files and numbers never leave your device.

What you'll find here

Typing & writing: the original Preeti to Unicode converter with smart error-free conversion, Unicode to Preeti for desktop publishing, Roman typing (write "nepal", get नेपाल), voice typing that turns Nepali speech into text, Nepali Docs for writing and exporting Word documents, and a typing test (Typeshala) for Lok Sewa preparation.

Converters: the BS ↔ AD date converter built on the official Bikram Sambat calendar tables, number to words for cheque writing, image to text (OCR) that reads Nepali from photos and PDFs — including automatic Preeti conversion — and the land unit converter for ropani–aana and bigha–kattha calculations.

Calculators: practical, accurate calculators built on official rates — the NEPSE share calculator with SEBON commission slabs and capital gains tax, loan EMI, salary tax with the latest fiscal-year slabs, SIP returns, the NEA electricity bill calculator with the official tariff table, and the Bikram Sambat age calculator for official forms.

Utilities: P2P file sharing that sends files directly between your devices without uploading them anywhere, plus an image editor with Nepali fonts and templates. Browse everything on the Tools page.

Why people choose this platform

Accuracy first. The Preeti converter was built to fix the character errors other converters produce, so writers can copy the result without revising it. The same standard applies everywhere: the date and age calculators use the official BS month-length tables, the share calculator uses SEBON's exact fee slabs, the tax calculator follows the Income Tax Act schedules, and the electricity calculator implements NEA's published tariff — slab by slab.

Privacy by design. Everything runs in your browser. Your documents, salary details, dates of birth and files are never sent to or stored on our servers — there is nothing to leak, sell or lose.

Free, forever, for everyone. No accounts, no limits, no paywalls. These tools exist to support the Nepali language and the people who use it.

Who we are

Preeti to Unicode is developed and maintained by a small team of experienced developers supporting the Nepali language online. We keep the tools updated as official rates and rules change — tariffs, tax slabs, calendars — and we build new tools based on what the community needs. Have a suggestion or found an issue? Reach us through our Facebook page — feedback from users shapes what we build next.
