Share Calculator Nepal — NEPSE Buy/Sell Calculator (सेयर क्याल्कुलेटर)

Free NEPSE share calculator for Nepal: enter the number of shares (कित्ता) and price, and instantly see the real cost of buying or the net amount you receive after selling — including broker commission, SEBON regulatory fee, DP charge and capital gains tax (CGT). This is the actual amount your broker and Meroshare statement will show, not just quantity × price.

When buying, the calculator also shows your cost per share (WACC) — the break-even price you need the stock to cross before you make any profit. When selling, enter your purchase price (the WACC shown in Meroshare) and the calculator works out your capital gain, applies the correct CGT rate, and shows your exact net profit or loss in rupees and percent.

What fees do you pay on every NEPSE transaction?

1. Broker commission — set by SEBON in slabs that decrease as the transaction grows (minimum रु १०):

Transaction amountCommission
Up to रु ५०,०००0.36%
रु ५०,००१ – ५,००,०००0.33%
रु ५,००,००१ – २०,००,०००0.31%
रु २०,००,००१ – १,००,००,०००0.27%
Above रु १,००,००,०००0.24%

2. SEBON fee — 0.015% of the transaction amount, charged on both buy and sell.
3. DP charge — रु २५ per company per settlement day, paid to your depository participant.
4. Capital gains tax (CGT) — only when you sell at a profit: 7.5% for individuals holding less than 365 days, 5% for 365 days or more, and 10% for institutions. No profit, no CGT — losses are not taxed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the broker commission the same for every broker in Nepal?

Yes. SEBON fixes the commission slabs, so all 90+ licensed brokers charge identical rates. The commission includes the broker's share, NEPSE's exchange fee and SEBON's regulatory portion.

What is WACC and why does it matter?

WACC (weighted average cost of capital) is your average per-share cost including all buying fees — the figure Meroshare shows. Capital gains tax is calculated against it, so always use the WACC, not the raw purchase price, when calculating sell-side profit.

How is capital gains tax deducted?

Your broker deducts CGT automatically at settlement before depositing the proceeds, so the "net receivable" this calculator shows is what actually reaches your bank account.

Do I pay CGT if I sell at a loss?

No. CGT applies only to profit. This calculator automatically skips CGT when the sale results in a loss.

Are bonus and right shares calculated the same way?

The fees are the same, but the cost base differs — bonus shares have a base price set by tax rules. Enter your adjusted WACC from Meroshare for an accurate result.
