Why is my Nepali age different from my English age?
The Bikram Sambat year starts in mid-April (१ बैशाख) and its months don't align with English months, so your age in years/months/days differs between the two calendars even though the total days lived are identical. Nepali government offices calculate age in BS. For example, the minimum age for citizenship (16), for voting (18) or Lok Sewa age limits (18–35 for most posts) are all checked against your BS date of birth — which is exactly what this tool calculates.

Why does the day list sometimes stop at 29, 30 or 31?
Bikram Sambat months genuinely vary between 29 and 32 days, and the same month can have different lengths in different years. The calculator loads the real month length for the year you select, so an invalid date like ३२ पुष can never be entered.
