GPA Calculator Nepal — SEE, NEB +2 & University (जीपीए क्याल्कुलेटर)

Free GPA calculator for Nepal: add your subjects with their credit hours and letter grades, and instantly get your credit-weighted GPA and overall grade — exactly the way the National Examinations Board (NEB) calculates it for SEE and Grade 11/12 (+2) gradesheets. Switch to the विश्वविद्यालय scale for TU, KU, PU and other university semester GPAs, or use the प्रतिशत → ग्रेड tab to convert percentage marks into the NEB letter grade and grade point.

The calculator starts with the six typical SEE subjects pre-loaded — edit the names, set each subject's credit hours from your gradesheet, pick the grades, and your GPA updates instantly. Add or remove subjects freely for +2 (where subject counts differ by stream) or for university semesters.

NEB grading scale (SEE and +2, since 2078 BS)

Since the letter grading directive of 2078 BS, NEB grades each subject as: A+ (90–100%, GPA 4.0), A (80–90, 3.6), B+ (70–80, 3.2), B (60–70, 2.8), C+ (50–60, 2.4), C (40–50, 2.0), D (35–40, 1.6) and NG (non-graded, below 35%). Your overall GPA is the credit-hour-weighted average of the subject grade points: GPA = Σ(credit × grade point) ÷ Σ(credit). An NG in any subject means the gradesheet is withheld for that subject regardless of the GPA — you must re-appear in the grade-increment (पूरक) exam.

How to use this GPA calculator

1. Choose the scale — NEB (SEE/+2) or विश्वविद्यालय (A 4.0, A- 3.7, B+ 3.3 … F 0, used by TU/KU/PU semester systems).
2. Enter each subject's credit hours as printed on your gradesheet. If every subject has equal credits, the GPA is simply the average of the grade points.
3. Pick each subject's letter grade — the GPA, total credits and total grade points update live.
4. For theory + internal (practical) marks given separately, your gradesheet already combines them into one subject grade — enter that final grade.

Everything runs in your browser — your marks are never sent to or stored on any server.

What GPA do I need for +2 science, management or scholarships?

Common thresholds in Nepal: most colleges ask a minimum GPA 2.0 for +2 admission, with science stream typically requiring GPA 2.4–3.0+ (plus C+ in Math and Science individually at reputed colleges), and management/humanities from GPA 1.6–2.0. Competitive scholarships and top colleges often filter at 3.6+. Requirements vary by college and year — check the college notice, then use this calculator to see exactly which grades get you there.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is SEE GPA calculated in Nepal?

Each subject's percentage becomes a letter grade and grade point (A+ = 4.0 down to D = 1.6; below 35% is NG). The overall GPA is the credit-hour-weighted average: multiply each subject's grade point by its credit hours, add them up, and divide by total credit hours.

What percentage is GPA 3.6 in SEE?

GPA 3.6 corresponds to grade A, which is awarded for 80–90% in a subject. As an overall GPA, 3.6+ means your weighted average sits in the A band — roughly equivalent to the old "distinction" level.

What happens if I get NG in one subject?

NG (non-graded, below 35%) in any subject means no grade is awarded for it and you must appear in the supplementary (ग्रेड वृद्धि) exam for that subject, even if your other grades are high.

Is the university GPA scale different from NEB?

Yes. TU, KU, PU and most university semester systems use A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0 … F = 0 — there is no A+ and the steps differ. Use the विश्वविद्यालय toggle for university semesters.

Can I calculate my +2 (Grade 12) GPA here?

Yes. Add your Grade 12 subjects with the credit hours printed on your gradesheet, select the grades, and you get the same credit-weighted GPA NEB prints. The final transcript GPA combines Grade 11 and 12 as per NEB's weighting.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. The calculation happens entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers.
