A free time calculator for the three time-maths jobs people actually need: add or subtract two durations (like 2 h 30 m + 1 h 45 m), find the duration between two clock times (handy for work hours and shift length, including overnight shifts), and add or subtract hours and minutes to a time of day (e.g. what time is it 3 hours 15 minutes after 10:00). Every result also appears as total minutes and decimal hours, which is exactly what timesheets and payroll need.
It works in hours, minutes and seconds, handles times that cross midnight, and updates the moment you type. Everything runs in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded or stored anywhere.
| What you want | Mode | Example → Result |
|---|---|---|
| Total of two durations | जोड / घटाउ | 2:30:00 + 1:45:00 → 4 h 15 m |
| Difference of two durations | जोड / घटाउ (−) | 3:00:00 − 1:20:00 → 1 h 40 m |
| Work hours in a day | दुई समयबीच | 09:00 → 17:30 = 8 h 30 m |
| Overnight / night shift | दुई समयबीच + overnight | 22:00 → 06:00 = 8 h 0 m |
| Time after adding hours | समयमा थप्नुहोस् | 10:00 + 3 h 15 m → 13:15 |
1. Pick a mode — जोड / घटाउ (add/subtract two durations), दुई समयबीच (duration between two times) or समयमा थप्नुहोस् (add/subtract time to a clock time).
2. Enter the hours, minutes and seconds — or the clock times — in the fields shown.
3. Use the + / − buttons to choose whether to add or subtract, and tick overnight when a shift crosses midnight.
4. The result, total minutes and decimal hours appear instantly and update as you type.
Decimal hours are useful for pay: 8 h 30 m = 8.5 hours, so at an hourly rate you just multiply by 8.5.
Working with dates instead of clock time? Count days, weeks and months between two dates with the Date Calculator, find your exact age in Bikram Sambat with the Nepali Age Calculator, or crunch any numbers with the Scientific Calculator.
Use the जोड / घटाउ mode, enter each duration as hours, minutes and seconds, keep the + button selected, and the calculator adds them — e.g. 2 h 30 m + 1 h 45 m = 4 h 15 m. Minutes over 60 roll into hours automatically.
Switch to दुई समयबीच, set the start time (e.g. 09:00) and end time (e.g. 17:30), and you get 8 h 30 m — also shown as 510 minutes and 8.50 decimal hours for payroll.
Tick the overnight (cross-midnight) box. The end time is then treated as the next day, so 22:00 → 06:00 correctly returns 8 hours instead of a negative number.
Decimal hours express minutes as a fraction of an hour: 30 minutes = 0.5, 15 minutes = 0.25. So 8 h 30 m = 8.5 hours. It makes wage calculations easy — multiply the decimal hours by the hourly rate.
No. The whole calculation happens in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to or saved on any server.
