Dates for any other year work the same way — open असोज/कात्तिक of that year and the festival names appear on the calendar automatically. Festival dates are derived from their traditional tithi rules (e.g., विजया दशमी is Shukla Dashami at sunrise; लक्ष्मी पूजा follows the evening Aunsi). In rare edge cases the official date announced by the Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti can differ by one day, so treat the government notice as final for official leave.

Which years does this Nepali calendar cover?
Bikram Sambat २००० to २०९० (AD 1943–2034), using the official BS month-length table — the same data Nepali printed calendars use. BS months genuinely vary between 29 and 32 days, so only a lookup table is exact.
How is the tithi calculated?
Astronomically: the tithi is the 12° step of the angle between the moon and the sun, evaluated at Kathmandu sunrise — the tithi prevailing at sunrise governs the day, exactly as printed panchangs do. Nakshatra uses the moon's sidereal position with the Lahiri ayanamsa.
Are the festival dates official?
They are derived from each festival's traditional tithi rule (e.g., Shivaratri on Falgun Krishna Chaturdashi at midnight, Laxmi Puja on the evening of Kartik Aunsi). This matches the official patro in almost all years, but the Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti's announcement is the final authority and can occasionally differ by one day.
Does it show holidays?
Yes — Saturdays (Nepal's weekly holiday), national days like Constitution Day and Republic Day, and major festival holidays are marked in red, with the month's full list shown under the calendar. Sundays from चैत २३, २०८२ (April 6, 2026) onward are also highlighted, because the Government of Nepal now gives a two-day Saturday–Sunday weekend to government offices and educational institutions.
Is Sunday a holiday in Nepal? (आइतबार बिदा हुन्छ?)
For government offices and educational institutions, yes — since चैत २३, २०८२ (April 6, 2026) the Government of Nepal grants both Saturday and Sunday as the weekly holiday, with office hours of 9 AM–5 PM on working days. Many private businesses, banks and shops still operate on Sundays, so only Saturday remains the universal public holiday. The patro marks these government-holiday Sundays in a separate colour.
