Prime Minister Balen Shah has publicly released the details of funds collected in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief and Rescue Fund as of Sunday afternoon. Prime Minister Shah shared this information regarding the fund’s collections via Facebook.
“The Government of Nepal is mobilizing financial assistance for victims through the Prime Minister’s Disaster Fund and the Prime Minister’s Fund, and the flow of contributions is increasing,” Prime Minister Shah stated. He added, “The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has launched an ‘Aid Request Portal’ and has fully transparently published the details of funds received from both domestic and international sources in these funds to date.”
According to him, a total of 5 billion 24 crore 79 lakh 44 thousand 585 Nepali Rupees (NPR 5,24,79,44,585) has been deposited in the accounts of nine commercial banks under the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund as of this afternoon.
He also noted that an additional 2 million 1 hundred thousand 2 hundred 32 US Dollars (USD 2,100,232) has been deposited in Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Bank.
“We are currently discussing how to effectively spend the collected funds,” Prime Minister Shah wrote.
